Workshop for members of the Abu Dhabi International Association of Photography

ABU DHABI – On 13th and 20th November the Abu Dhabi International Association of Photography organized its first workshop for its members, following the move to its new headquarters in the Free Atelier at the National Theater, Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Zayed the Just Centre in the UAE capital.

Members of the Association photographed the Centre’s building on Friday 13th November at 4:00 am, and again the following Friday at 4:00 pm.

Participants photographed various architectural features of the Centre’s building which enjoy a distinctive heritage aspect, such as doors and windows that are characterized with traditional adornments and carvings, and walls that are decorated with arches.

They also took pictures in the outdoor court of the building, which included many of the traditional symbols such as the Well (Tawye), which lies next to the "Saqa" (watering), and  the camel and horse and various types of heritage aspects that surround the building.

Photographers tried to highlight the aesthetic side of the building, including the traditional features that reflect its authenticity, through a variation of lights projected on the building, and by taking advantage of this light and photographing at different times of the day.

This workshop is the flagship of the Association’s works after its move to its new headquarters, which will herald a new phase for many events in the future.
