The Abu Dhabi Film Festival (formerly known as The Middle East International Film Festival) was established in 2007 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, with the aim of helping to create a vibrant film culture throughout the region. The event, presented each October by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, is committed to curating exceptional programs to engage and educate the local community, inspire filmmakers and nurture the growth of the regional film industry.

Arabic Programming Assistant
The Programming Assistant assists the Programming team with submitted films, submission materials, slotting and festival programme schedules.
Job Accountabilities:
- Assist management of incoming film screeners and materials.
- Coordinate the distribution of screeners among staff as required.
- Update festival database to ensure accurate information regarding films and filmmakers.
- Assist Programming team in slotting.
- Assist Programming team in developing the flowchart.
- Assist Programming team in developing the Intro/Q&A schedule.
- Assist Programming team with the delivery of rejection letters.
- Perform administrative tasks for the Festival office as necessary.
- Enter films into database, perform searches and provide reports as necessary.
- Assist Director of Programming, Director of Programme Administration, Director, Publications, and Programming Manager as required.
- Submit all departmental files in digital format at the end of the festival to the Festival Management.
- Provide a full wrap report after the festival, including a summary of work done, challenges encountered and suggestions for the next year.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Strong oral and written communications skills in English and Arabic. *Strong preference for Arabic as Mother Tongue
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office, data base management
- Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and to work under pressure.
As a member of the festival team, this position may require flexible work schedules, extended work days, and continuous spans of work during the preparations and span of the festival.
