IT Manager
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance and trouble shooting of all computer hardware, software, servers and networks for the festival in a mixed PC/Mac environment
The following responsibilities are required:
Oversee maintenance of Festival server
Oversee maintenance of Festival database (housed on server)
Implement local network infrastructure for administrative data and media storage
Oversee technical infrastructure of Festival website, including hosting and integration with Festival database and commercial providers
Oversee and manage Festival email service hosting
Ensures, facilitates, and trouble-shoots all Internet access issues
Liaise with service providers to insure and trouble-shoot Internet access for Festival operations and services
Propose and implement network security plan
Manage software licenses and oversee software installation
Manage network peripherals
Ensures that support for around-the-clock information transfer, storage, and processing is timely, efficient and meets the service levels required
Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to all members of staff
Advise on IT-related asset purchases, securing quotes if required
Manage information technology and computer systems
Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software
Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues
Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
Train staff about potential uses of existing technology
Provide individual training and support on request
Provide recommendations about accessing information and support
Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
Provide network access to all staff
Install work stations
Connect and set up hardware
Load all required software, manage software licences
Provide network accounts and passwords as required
Monitor security of all technology
Support windows and Mac platforms
Draft training manuals and tip sheets for staff
Supervise seasonal IT staff for the festival
Advise on IT-related asset purchases, securing quotes if required
Oversee the planning and installation of the festival's move to offsite headquarters
Manage the planning and installation of secure internet lines for box office sites at the venues.
This position may require alternate work schedule, extended work days, and continuous spans of work during the festival time period.
Skills, Qualification and Experiences required:
Essential: The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Computer hardware and software systems
Computer networks, network administration and network troubleshooting
Workstation troubleshooting
Virus prevention and security
Automated data Backup and recovery
E-mail and internet technology
Experience in Mac and PC platforms
Windows Server (preferably 2008), including domain management
Network hardware (switches, firewalls) - preferably experience with Cisco technologies
Experience supervising staff
Experience training staff in IT platforms – patient and clear teacher
Desirable:
Previous Festival and/or event experience
Other languages: Arabic would be an asset
