The Liwa Date Festival is an annual celebration that gathers all those who appreciate ingenuity and heritage and cherish the precious land of Abu Dhabi and its palm dates.
The sixth round of the festival took place in Liwa in the Western Region, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the prosperous oasis that remained throughout the ages as a green gate for the desert.
And since its inception, six years ago, the festival’s vision remained to signify palm trees and dates as a symbol of the past’s ingenuity and a source of prosperity in the present and the future, and hence embodying the dear advise of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan the founder of the United Arab Emirates (may Allah bless his soul).
The sixth round of the festival took place under the generous patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
The Liwa Date Festival supports the efforts of Abu Dhabi to place Liwa and the Western Region on the international tourism map through the various cultural, heritage and economic aspects of the event.
