UAE – The Western Region: Al Dhafra Festival – Fifth session activities and camel beauty contest (Mazayna) organized by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage at the Western Region with many special shots that deserve to be recorded as the following:
The participants in Al Dhafra festival have expressed their enjoyment by performing in traditional dances while listening to khaleeji music and song and also the military police parades.
Even though all attendees were busy with the mazayana but that did not distract them from doing their prayers on time, and this was respected by the foreign community who recognized the extent of adherence to the principles of their religion.
Fleet of cars lined up for as prizes for the Mazayna winners on both the sides of the racing track which increased the level of motivation among competitors.
It was noticed that a high percentage of the crowd were youth and children, which confirms the success of Al Dhafra Festival in achieving one of its main objectives which is to create a link between the Emirati's youth and their heritage.
The festival's heritage market was highly attended by foreign visitors who showed a lot of interest in handicrafts products created by the expert Emirati women, the market visitors enjoyed handicrafts like sadou and teli. AL SADOU was enrolled by UNESCO as part of the tangible heritage in the UAE.
It was shown that most of the visitors interacted with the local environment as they watched the mazayana sitting on the desert sand in order to experience the real Bedouin atmosphere.
Emirati females have confirmed their presence within the festival in all its activities and it was emerged in the females’ military police parades and also in organizing and monitoring different levels of the event.
