ADFC CIRCLE CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS COMMERCIAL AND CREATIVITY CHANGES NEEDED FOR FILM INDUSTRY TO FLOURISH

• Future of 3D film will also feature on agenda of Abu Dhabi Film Commission Conference
Abu Dhabi, October 4, 2010: Abu Dhabi Film Commission will hold a session for industry representatives from across the region to debate the strategies necessary to ensure a solid roadmap for the development of the Middle East film industry during The Circle Conference next week. In particular, panels will discuss the business models and content creativity changes needed to ensure growth in consumption, as people look to mobile and small screen content.
3D film will also be discussed in a session to be led by Sir William Sargent, CEO of Frame Store, and will discuss the landscape and opportunities of 3D production in both film and TV, and the challenges and opportunities it poses.
Among the panellists Khalid Al Muharraqi, head of a 3D studio in Bahrain, will be speaking, along with Angus Cameron, a 3D expert from Vision 3; Hasan Sayed Hasan, head of twofour54 intaj and Douglas Merrifield, Executive Producer at Paramount.
The programme will also feature discussions on the need to reshape creativity and business models to meet the needs of viewers using mobile and small screens to consume media. Ferhan Cook will lead the discussion and will be joined by Maitha Al Mehairbi creator of webisode Jirfah “Cinamon”, Katia Saleh from Shankaboots, John David Heinson, CEO of Bunnygraph entertainment, and Saleh Alnobani, CEO of Vertex Animation Studio FZ-LLC.
The session will discuss how stories are being told through the small screen, in particular mobile, and the impact this has on the creator’s vision, and critically on business and monetisation models.
